SMART Wood
Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) is a cutting-edge lumber technology that combines thin wood layers of Larch Wood bonded with high-performance adhesives under pressure. This results in a strong, warp-resistant material ideal for open floor plans and timber spans up to 40’ long.
We offer two types of SMART Wood depending on its use.
H2 for indoor use and suitable for framing: 100% non-toxic pressure treatment
H3 for outdoor use and suitable moderate moisture conditions: pressure treatment with CCA (Chromated Copper Arsenate)
What is Larch Wood?
Durability and Rot Resistance:
Naturally tough, waterproof, and durable, making it suitable for outdoor use.
Mechanical Properties:
The wood is strong and dense, yet flexible in thin strips.
Aesthetic Qualities:
Larch wood features a bi-colored appearance, with salmon-pink heartwood and yellowish-white sapwood, offering a distinctive look for interior paneling and exterior cladding.
SMART LVL
Termite Protection: H2 or H3 glue line treatment provides consistent termite protection across the entire cross-section.
Custom Sizes: Manufactured to your specification to 6” width, 48” depth, and 40’ length.
Nail Plate Compatibility: Offers excellent nail plate tooth capacity
Ideal Application: Perfect for girder truss applications.
Lightweight: Easy to handle and lift on-site, making it a practical choice for truss construction.
Sustainable: Last longer without rot
SMART Joist
A high-performance I-Joist with LVL flanges and a durable OSB web. It comes in various heights (7-7/8” to 15-3/4”) and features a 10-1/6” Wet Area Set-Down joist for complete flooring solutions. The design includes 1-9/16” knock-out holes at 18” centers for easy wiring, with larger holes available if needed. Engineered for heavy-duty use, Smart-Joist combines ultrasonically graded LVL with an OSB web for consistent strength and termite protection.
SMART Ply: Marine Plywood
SMART Ply is a marine-grade plywood crafted from 100% Larch wood.
Durability: Larch wood is naturally durable and resistant to decay, making it an excellent choice for outdoor construction, such as cladding, fencing, and decking.
Termite Resistance: With H2 or H3 treatment mixed into the glue, SMART Ply offers enhanced protection against termites and other wood-destroying insect
Plywood's thickness and sizes can be customized according to customer needs (1/2” to 1-1/4” thickness, 2’ to 4’ width, 4’ to 16’ lengths), and it is highly applicable.
